2006 J5 festival

Rumor has it that the J5 festival will take place again this year, but will be at Blandford on March 4 & 5, 2006. Please post detailed information ASAP so families can make plans to attend.

Blandford will be hosting the J5 festival, and they are very excited about hosting a fun event for not only racers but also parents. Based on the job they did with the J1+J2 race, families can expect a fun weekend. Bousquet has been very gracious as host for the past three years, and everyone involved thanks Steve McDermott and the whole Bousquet staff for getting the ball rolling on this event when no one else wanted to invest the time and effort. Having coached at every J5 Festival since its inception, I can attest that everyone gets a great deal from this weekend: a chance to get away from the home area, to meet new kids from all over TriState, while the parents get to know some of the families that they will be seeing at TriState Championships for years to come. We have always left with a good feeling about the season. I would encourage J5 coaches from all over TriState to recommend this event to their athletes. If you have been to this event already you should expect fresh ideas and a new enthusiasm from the new host area, and if it is your first time, you should expect a fun and educational weekend without the pressures of competition.
