The J5 Festival will be held March 6-7 at Bousquet. They did a tremendous job last year, and have great plans for this year. Green Mountain Valley School has signed on to sponsor this event this year. We really appreciate their support.
This event is open to all J5's, that are members of Tri State. That includes interclub racers. But please remember that they must join Tri State.
Please check back regularly for more details!

Dave,
Does sponsored mean that they will be providing coaches for the event? or t-shirts or .....
Last season, Bousquet did a great job and maybe with GMVS' help more members will attend.

Rick,
For the first time, Tri State is allowing sponsors to support events. The J5 Festival, and the J4 Championship (we are hoping someone might be interested in sponsoring the J3 Championship, but there are no takers yet). Since it is our first experience with sponsors, we are taking it one step at a time. We want to make sure that it is a good experience for the athletes, Tri State, and the sponsors.
At this time, there is no intention to provide GMVS coaches that I am aware.
From the athletes and parents perspective, there will probably be two noticeable changes from last year. While they tried to have a dinner on Saturday night last year, it just never happened. It was the first year and things just didn’t work out. They are working at getting the dinner/banquet at a facility close by (Lee) that also offers accommodations for the night. I think this will be a huge advantage in drawing families to the event. In fact, the J4 championship is intending to use the same facility for its event.
The second change you will probably notice is the GMVS name/logo on all event materials.
Coaches are from all over Tri State. And hopefully some of the best from Tri State. If you liked it last year, I think you will have an even better time this year. It is the second attempt at providing our youngest athletes with an event planned just for them.

Like last year we want have volunteer TS coaches who will take groups with kids from other programs. We may be able to have some GMVS kids come to free ski with the kids, but that will be a last minute detail that will depend on the GMVS kids race schedule that weekend.
This year there will be a banquet that we hope that all athletes, parents and siblings will attend. We hope to have it at a local hotel and will provide further information after arrangements are set.

Hey Dave,
Just letting you know Mohawk plans to send JV's to the March 6-7 Carnival. I'll get better details as we get closer but I imagine we'll have approximately 10-12 JV's who will want to attend. Please make sure any new info is forwarded to Mohawk!
Thx,

Steve,
The J5 Chairman, Andy Maslow, and the event sponor, Green Mountain Valley School, have prepared a draft of a notification. The final copy should be going out sometime soon.
However, I suggest that you check back to the message board, as this might be the easiest way to keep your "finger on the pulse".
Thanks!
